Sometimes, second chances are a chance to grow and learn from your mistakes, but there are some things you only get one swing at! We live in a world that desperately needs a source of hope. The problem is that every time we put our hope in something manmade, we end up disappointed! Ever since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, we have had to deal with sin, sickness, and death, as the beauty of God’s original creation decayed and fell into disorder. We are no longer condemned to punishment for our sin, but instead we have the opportunity to spend eternity in the presence of the Father.

Similarly, the book of Ecclesiastes teaches that mankind cannot add to or take away from God’s creation. Think of the cycles of life that you see in nature. As the seasons change, plants bloom in the spring and summer, then fade and die during the fall and autumn. The opportunities you have right now in your life won’t be around forever, so will you let them go to waste?

When firefighters rescue people from burning buildings, they don’t stop helping them once they reach the exit. Those people are still in danger while they’re anywhere close to the fire! Well, Pastor Jeff reminds us today that God doesn’t just free us from sin, but He places us in a new environment within His Kingdom. If we were rescued from sin but not given a new way to live, we would fall right back into our sinful habits. But in God’s Kingdom, we have the opportunity to live for something greater!

Well, you may not be part of a secret organization like the ones you see in the movies, but you are part of God’s Church, and you are part of the Great Commission to reach people for the Gospel! Pastor Jeff teaches you today that the Great Commission is both a corporate and an individual mandate: everyone is responsible for playing their part in drawing people in to witness the glory of God’s Kingdom.

They say first impressions are everything. If your first interaction with someone goes poorly, there’s a chance that person won’t want to be around you in the future. But Pastor Jeff wants you to recognize today that you may also be the first representative of the Kingdom of God that someone will ever meet. If you are allowing the fruit of the Spirit to flourish in your life, you have a better likelihood of giving that person a good first impression of Jesus! Is your life a good reflection of His goodness?

It’s good for us Christians to be engaged in our society. While we don’t belong to this world, we are still living in it, and we should live lives that bring glory to God in our communities. However, Pastor Jeff reminds us that our citizenship in this world isn’t our priority! Scripture teaches that we are citizens of the Kingdom of God, which we received the moment we accepted Christ into our hearts. The kingdoms of this world will all crumble one day, but the Lord will reign forever and ever!

When you get in your car, you need fuel in the tank to get going, and you need the key to start the engine. Without either of these vital components, the car won’t start. But in God’s eyes, those paths only have two possible outcomes: life with Him or life without Him. When they all fade away, what will you be left holding at the end? Be sure you’re holding on to the Lord.

But that pet cannot possibly understand why you are gone for so long! Pastor Jeff reminds you that mankind is incapable of fully understanding God’s plans. All you can do is be patient and wait on His timing to accomplish His Will.

Finding a river in the middle of a desert seems pretty unlikely! But so did the prospect of rebuilding Israel when the Israelites were returning from captivity. But just as God provided for the Israelites when they couldn’t see a way forward, the Lord can do the same for you today. In today’s message, Pastor Jeff encourages you to have faith in the impossible. Because if God is the one ordaining your steps, He will tear down the roadblocks in front of you. Faith in the Lord can accomplish the impossible.

When you buy a piece of furniture or equipment that requires assembly, it usually comes with an instruction manual that gives you the steps needed to complete the project. If someone else tried to look a the finished product and write their own manual, the instructions would be incomplete and unreliable. Pastor Jeff wants you to ask a big question today: why do people look at the instruction manuals that men write for themselves, when you have access to God’s Word, given to you by the Creator himself?

How long would you be able to hold on if you had no hope for a better future? The world is full of broken people living broken lives: people who are looking for any reason to keep holding on. The Israelites weren’t able to just walk into the Promised Land after leaving slavery in Egypt, they had to fight to take possession of what had been given to them. Despite the coming violence, we will see God move to intervene on behalf of His people like we have never seen before.

How good are we at predicting the future? For the most part, we don’t even know how the next two or three days are going to play out. But yet, the prophet Ezekiel received a vision from God that allowed Him to predict the rebuilding of the nation of Israel, twenty-six hundred years before it came to pass! In today’s message, Pastor Jeff reminds you that not only does God know how this story ends, He knows the beginning and the middle of the story as well. Nothing comes as a surprise to Him.

The Bible teaches us that from God’s point of view, a thousand years is like a day, and one day is like a thousand years. When you’re reading an epic story of good versus evil, it can be hard to resist the urge to skip to the final chapter and see how it ends. There’s that small part of you that wants to know if good will prevail, or if evil will win the day. Well, when it comes to the spiritual battle that the church is facing, the ending has already been written in Scripture! But Pastor Jeff has to temper your expectations today, because there are some facets of the modern church that act like the end of the story is unknown.

The conflict between the Arabs and Jews in the Middle East can be traced back all the way to the time of Isaac and Ishmael. From a childhood rivalry between two sons of Abraham, the conflict has turned bloody and violent, with millions of innocent people caught in the crossfire. Pastor Jeff teaches you today that this conflict we see today in the Middle East is by no means a new thing, and it is liable to get worse before it gets better. But no matter what happens, remember that God is still in control.
